Legal & General International is a life assurance company that offers a range of product propositions and services with the aim of making investment and tax planning easier and more accessible.

Our heritage

We are a subsidiary of the Legal & General Group Plc, built on its heritage and giving you the confidence that the highest standards will be maintained in all of our activities.

The Legal & General Group, established in 1836, is one of the UK’s leading financial services companies. As at 30 June 2011, the Group was responsible for investing £370 billion worldwide on behalf of investors, policyholders and shareholders.  They also had over seven million customers in the UK for life assurance, pensions, investments and general insurance plans.

Financially strong

At Legal & General International we have achieved the highest financial strength rating (B+ "Very Strong"), that has been given to international life companies from AKG Actuaries and Consultants Ltd, shared with only a few other international companies*. This will give you confidence to count on us from the start.

Our location

We are based in Dublin, Ireland, which has a proven reputation as a leading international financial services centre. As an EU member state Ireland has a strong system of regulatory controls. A wide range of leading global financial institutions have set up a base in Dublin’s International Financial Services Centre, as a  result of encouragement from the Irish Government and a business friendly environment with an experienced workforce.

We are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. If we are unable to meet our obligations to you, you may be entitled to compensation under the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme. We also currently offer a range of products and services to investors in Italy, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
