How to apply
Legal & General International products are available through advised sales only. Investors must have an adviser in order to apply.
1. Request a quote
Call our dedicated Distribution Support Team on 0845 6740 803 or email lgiirequest@landg.com to request a quote.
We endeavour to process quotes within 24 hours, with most issued on the day of request.
If you are satisfied with the quotation and wish to proceed, Legal & General International will first need to review a completed Donor Questionnaire. Once underwriting is complete, an Application Form should be submitted. Payment should only be sent at the Application stage, and not with the Donor Questionnaire.
Both the Donor Questionnaire and Application Form are available from our literature section, should you prefer to have your client complete both at the same time.
2. Submit a Donor Questionnaire
Payment should not be sent to Legal & General International at this point. The Donor Questionnaire includes some brief lifestyle and health related questions, a declaration and consent for Legal & General International to contact the donor’s doctor to request a General Practitioner’s Report (GPR). Legal & General International will coordinate with underwriters and GPs from this point to assess acceptability.
GPs can take several weeks to respond. The client may be asked to assist in following up with the GP if no response is forthcoming.
3. LGII issues a Valuation Letter
Once the underwriters have completed their review, this will be confirmed to the client in writing. Where the Donor Questionnaire has been accepted, a final Discounted Gift Value offer will be confirmed.
4. Submit an application form and AML documents
If you wish to be able to carry out transactions within this bond on your client's behalf, you should complete our Investment Adviser Appointment Form and include this with the Application.
Irish AML requirements differ from the UK. Please use the attached checklist to ensure you have all the necessary information.
4a. Application pre-vetting (recommended)
To ensure the application process goes smoothly, we recommend that you make use of Legal & General International’s free pre-vetting service. You can send your client’s application form and AML documents to us for pre-vetting either by fax or as a scanned attachment via email. Where possible, pre-vetting will occur on the day of receipt of the application.
Once pre-vetting is complete you can then send us the original application and AML information with the knowledge that you’ve satisfied all requirements.
5. Application accepted by Legal & General International
Upon receipt of an application form and AML information, Legal & General International checks for accuracy and completeness. Legal & General International will contact you in the event that there’s an outstanding requirement.
If the application has been pre-vetted, it is most unlikely that any additional information will be required.
6. Investment premium banked and trades placed
Once a valid, original application and all AML information has been received, the investment premium is banked and the asset trades placed.
